Hi I'm Daphne, owner and founder of the Name Jewelry Bar. As a child I loved art and creating. Designing puzzles, painting, drawing, making soaps, blending oils and constructing jewelry out of colorful magazine pages were some of my favorite activities. But somewhere along the way to growing "up", I lost those notions in exchange for doing things that I knew would make me a living. I went to college, majored in business, earned my BBA and immediately got jobs working in administration positions in two publishing companies. But I never lost my fascination with art and the handmade creation process. When I started selling oils and jewelry at fairs and festivals over 25 years ago it was just a hobby and creative outlet. I never thought 3 years later it would be my full time profession.
Jewelry has been my passion and profession now for over 30 years. I take my role as a jeweler seriously, and I’ve spent decades learning, creating and perfecting my craft. Along the way, I’ve trained in metalsmithing with renowned jewelers in New York City, earned my diamond certification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and studied gemology in depth.
Over the years, I’ve worked with everything from sterling silver (including running my own silver jewelry shop for over a decade) to 14k gold, platinum, diamonds, antique 19th century and early 20th century pieces, vintage pieces and high-quality costume jewelry.
My goal has always been the same, to offer beautiful, lasting pieces while being transparent if a material requires special care or has natural limitations.
